About the Miller-Driscoll PTA
The PTA is a group of active and engaged parents, teachers, and staff who work together to enrich the educational experience for all students at Miller-Driscoll. Our mission is simple: to build a strong school community by fostering collaboration between families and educators, supporting student success, and creating opportunities for positive change.
As a PTA, we take on many initiatives across a range of focus areas:
-
Organize Events & Activities: The PTA brings fun, educational, and community-building events to life throughout the school year via our various volunteer committees.
-
Raise Funds for School Needs: Through fundraisers, we provide financial support for our robust Gifts & Grants program, support student field trips, keep our LLC stocked with the latest children’s literature offerings, and much, much more!
-
Advocate for Students: We represent the voice of parents, ensuring that student needs are heard at all levels of decision-making.
-
Support Teachers and Staff: The PTA works closely with school staff to make sure teachers have the tools and resources they need to succeed. Our Gifts & Grants program helps cover purchases that fall outside of the school budget, and our Hospitality team hosts numerous appreciation events throughout the year for our teachers, staff and bus drivers.
-
Provide Volunteer Opportunities: We offer many ways for parents to get involved and make a direct impact, whether through volunteering at events or taking on larger leadership roles on our committees or PTA Board.
Joining the PTA does not require you to commit to volunteering. Membership does not require you to attend monthly meetings. (However, we love to have as many attendees as possible, both live and virtually!) Joining the PTA does show that you care about children’s education at Miller-Driscoll and that you want to be informed and engaged.
We are a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
